Can’t make it to a library but love to read? The library can come to you. The Home Library Service (HLS) is for anyone who isn’t physically able to make it to a branch because of a disability, illness or limited mobility.
To apply to use the HLS you will need a written referral from your doctor, nurse, community worker or the Canberra Blind Society .
Material available to HLS members includes:
- Books in standard or large print
- Books on CDs
- Music CDs
- Reader's Digest in large print
- Reading material in languages other than English
To apply please complete the online application form or call the HLS on 6207 5748 (Monday to Friday 10am-4.30pm) to request one. Please note: you will need to have downloaded and completed the referral prior to applying.
You can also use the library website to browse items, request items, and search a wide range of electronic resources including full text magazines and newspapers, and downloadable audio books.
