Libraries ACT Book Club Service
Register your book club to use our service!
Our library service offers:
- Access to book club sets (12 copies of the same title), from our collection of 375 titles.
- An online account and membership card
- Discussion guides (subject to availability)
You will be able to book your Book Club sets:
- Using a viewable calendar, where you can see what sets are available and when;
- Up to six months in advance (180 days);
- For a maximum loan period of six weeks (43 days);
- Have a maximum of 7 bookings on your account;
- And, have two sets on loan at any time
How does it work?
1. Using your new online account, place a booking on the book club set of your choice
2. Collect the set from your preferred Libraries ACT branch when you receive a pick-up notification
3. Return all copies to your nearest library branch by the due date

Questions and Answers
Firstly, click on Login at the top right-hand corner of our homepage.
You will then need to enter your book club membership number and passphrase. You will find your book club membership number at the back of your book club library card.
Presently, only Libraries ACT Collections staff can change your password. Please contact us at the email above so we can assist you with changing your password.
Yes. When you first register your book club with us, you had to nominate a pickup location. Our system automatically uses this location as your preferred pickup location.
However, if you need to change the location at any stage, you can do so on your book club account. On your account menu, click on Personal details. You will now see an option for Pickup location. Please select your preferred Libraries ACT branch using the drop-down menu. Once complete, click on the Update button. Please see image below:

Alternatively, you can find the list on your book club account. On your book club account menu, click on Book Club Sets. When the Search screen appears, select “Book Club” from the Collection field and click Search. Please see the below image:

The maximum loan period is 42 days. If you are unable to return your books by the due date, please contact us.
Yes. You will receive a notification by email. You will also be able to see a notification on your book club account indicating your book club set is ready for pickup.
Once you have placed a booking, you will be able to review the status. The status is the state of the booking and it will change regularly. Please see the below table for each status option:
Status | What does it mean? |
---|---|
Pending Type: Check out and issue required | You have booked this set, but the booking has not yet been processed by library staff. |
Checked out | Your booking has been processed and the set is in-transit to your pickup location. Once the set arrives at your pickup location, our system will issue you a notification that your set is ready for pickup. |
Checked out Loan due: 03 Apr 2023 | You have borrowed the set and it is due back at our library branch on the due date. Once the entire set is returned, the title will disappear from this view. |
Our system will register the blue book club bag/s as an item. You will have 12 books and 1 bag, totalling 13 items.
It is preferred that book club books are returned as a complete set, but we understand that personal situations can arise. Please return the copies you have in hand and the outstanding book when you can.
