Memory of the World Knowledge Centres

The UNESCO Memory of the World Knowledge Centre for Australia is one eight Knowledge Centres throughout the world.

A UNESCO Memory of the World Knowledge Centre combines the functions of a library and archive and is a facility for education and research. Knowledge Centres draw on the expertise of a range of people and institutions concerned with documentary heritage, including representatives of peak library, archive and preservation bodies; libraries, archives and museums, and academics working in related fields. Knowledge Centres may also develop public programs designed to raise awareness of the need to preserve documentary heritage and make it widely accessible.
