Mervyn Jones was the General Manager of Canberra's cinemas, the Civic Theatre and the Capitol Theatre in Manuka.
This recording and copy were deposited by Jones' daughter, Patricia Frei. Ms Frei published a biography of her father Mervyn Jones and the Capitol and Civic Picture Theatres : an essay of memories. to coincide with an exhibition on the cinemas In the Can at the Canberra Museum and Gallery, 31 October 2008 - January 2009.
