SYNOPSIS

Kevin Rudd's election as Federal Leader of the ALP in December 2006 generated plenty of media attention. He has been hailed as a visionary and many believe he is a genuine prospect to become the first Labor Prime Minister since Paul Keating.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Queensland born Robert Macklin is the author of 14 books, two plays and three screenplays and is the biographer of Prime Minister Kevin Rudd. He is a graduate of the screenwriting faculty of Australian Film Television and Radio School and has written three novels, of which Juryman was made into a major Hollywood film titled Storyville.

A former journalist with The Age, The Bulletin and The Canberra Times, five of his non-fiction books have been written with co-author Peter Thompson including Morrison of China and the recently published independent blockbuster, Big Fella– The Rise and Rise of BHP Billiton.

He has a special interest in China where two of his books have been translated into Mandarin and where he is pursuing film and television projects. His screenplay, Barefoot based on the adventures of Australian’s only Chinese bushranger, is in pre-production at Ronin Films.

His current projects include the development of the book and website,My Favorite Teacher– How Teachers Changed Australians’ Lives and a major television and book project on the association between William Shakespeare and the 3rd Earl of Pembroke, William Herbert.

Robert lives with his wife Wendy in Canberra and the coastal village of Tuross.
