When we read together, it helps language development, learning, and literacy, all while building community. It’s also a lot of fun! As part of the fun this year’s event we’re asking everyone to wear a little blue to support the Bowerbird in the story”.

About Bowerbird Blues

Bowerbird Blues stars a magnificent bowerbird on a quest for the colour BLUE. But this isn’t just any bird—it’s a tale of longing, connection, and unexpected treasures. Our feathered protagonist soars across sea, sky, and city, driven by an insatiable desire for blue. With each swoop, the bowerbird snatches vibrant treasures—a kaleidoscope of hues—to adorn its nest.

The bowerbird’s nest becomes a mesmerizing blend of natural and unnatural objects. Shells, ribbons, and discarded trinkets form a mosaic of beauty. As the bowerbird’s bower grows, something magical happens. It attracts more than just curious glances. The longing for blue transforms into a deeper yearning—one that transcends colour and feathers.
