John Harold Bishop (Jack) Benson was an electrical fitter in Canberra, from 1926. The documents in this collection record his education and training prior to employment and his work experience in Canberra.
The memorandum is written in support of a pay rise for Benson to stop him from taking another job.
More information about the Benson family can be found in the book, Past Images, Present Voices : Kingston and thereabouts with a Box Brownie, compiled by Benson's daugher, Val Emerton and in the papers of Don and Val Emerton, HMSS 0036.
