Val and Don Emerton are long-time residents of Canberra. They were heavily involved the Canberra Stories Group. Val was compiler of two books for the Group, Past Images, Present Voices : Kingston and thereabouts through a Box Brownie , published in 1996, and Settlers Stories 1913-1975 : why they came and stayed in Canberra in 2000. Drafts and research notes for these books form part of the collection.
The Emerton's interest in Canberra's heritage is wide-ranging. Also in this collection is information from the Save Our Hosptial Committee (concerning preservation of the Royal Canberra Hospital) and the 1995 review of the City Hill Master Plan.
