The Griffith Primary School commenced in 1957 and continued until 1992 when it became absorbed into Griffith/Narrabundah Primary School. In 1994 the building was taken over by the ACT Library Service to become the Griffith Branch and the administration section of the ACT Library Service.
Information to be found in these records include official legal Department of Education material, community documents and other peripheral items. The items include stock records, visitors books, sports books, trophies, sports house flags, class rolls, prospectus/curriculum documents, newsletters, school magazines, staff notices, dental records, photographs, a school flag and uniforms. Many items are undated. Some items span several years and have been stored by their first date or in the miscellaneous box. Some material was donated from the personal collection of long-time Principal, George Hurrell, but are largely official records.
Realia is located in Boxes 8-10 and in bundles 1-6.
