Quiet hour at Libraries ACT

Libraries ACT introduces Quiet Hour to support a more inclusive library experience.

Libraries ACT is introducing Quiet Hour at all library locations, creating a calmer, low-sensory environment for community members who may find busy or noisy spaces overwhelming.

During Quiet Hour, libraries will reduce sensory stimulation by dimming lights where possible, lowering the volume and keeping conversations quiet.

Visitors are encouraged to help maintain the peaceful atmosphere by keeping voices low, taking phone calls outside, using headphones on devices and avoiding noisy activities.

Everyone is welcome to visit and enjoy the quieter library environment during Quiet Hour sessions and no bookings are necessary.
