Justice of the Peace Services available at Libraries ACT

Canberrans can access free Justice of the Peace (JP) services at selected Libraries ACT branches, making it easier to complete important documents close to home.

Whether certifying copies of documents, witnessing signatures on statutory declarations and affidavits, or providing other authorised JP services, Libraries ACT offers a convenient and trusted location for community members to access support.

The service reflects the organisation's commitment to connecting people with practical community services.

Delivered by volunteer JPs, the service supports community members who may need documents certified for employment, education, travel, government applications or other important life events.

The service is available free of charge and is open to everyone in the community.

Community members are encouraged to check the Libraries ACT website for participating locations and service times before visiting.

Visitors should also ensure they bring original documents and any required identification. Documents that require witnessing should not be signed before meeting with the JP.
