Collection of black and white photographs showing the process of street planting in Canberra suburbs and parks during the late 1940’s. Includes street plantings in the South Canberra suburbs of Kingston, Manuka, Griffith, Narrabundah and Forrest (including Telopea Park) as well as North Canberra suburbs of O’Connor, Acton and Reid. Also includes plantings along Northbourne Avenue. The plantings occurred under the supervision of Lyndsay Prior who was the Director of Parks and Gardens in the ACT from 1944 to 1958.
The photographs are labelled using an unidentified alphanumeric classification scheme believed to relate to some sort of filing system or catalogue.
The source of the photographs is unknown.
