Colin Albert Plummer graduated in pharmacy from the University of Sydney in 1952, aged 19 years. He registered as a pharmacist in 1954, aged 21, and on 13 October 1955 opened his own pharmacy in Green Square, Jardine Street, Kingston. When he closed in 1991, he had the distinction of being Canberra’s longest serving pharmacist in the same premises.
The pharmacy transitioned from handwritten records to a computer system without ever having passed through the typewriter stage. Transition to computerised records occurred in January 1991, not long before Mr Plummer retired.
