Brian Lee was born in the United Kingdom and emigrated to Canberra in the 1960s. He was a science writer with CSIRO and also worked freelance. He was Australian Correspondent for New Scientist and also worked for Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research and the National Parks and Wildlife Service.
In the course of his work he photographed extensively but most are not in this collection. The family retained family photographs and some documentary images.
The collection consists of 115 35mm colour transparencies of events experienced in Canberra by the family during 1969-1987. It includes slides of infrastructure and natural disasters.
