Les Webster, a teacher at Scots College, Sydney, was married in Sydney in April 1932 and drove to Canberra for his honeymoon. He took this photograph of his Baby Austin on Commonwealth Avenue in May 1932. Les carried his golf clubs in a fabric bag that can be seen resting on the front mudguard, driver’s side. The family had the car until World War 2. It was crank started. June McKinnon, nee Webster, born 1933, remembers the car well. She donated the photograph.
