The ACT Cricket Umpires Association was formed on 30 March 1953 for the purpose of officiating in ACT Grade cricket matches with 13 members. The Association became an independent Council on 1996/1997 and remained independent until 2008/2009.
The Association appointed member umpires to officiate at local grade and representative matches including the Prime Minister's XI. Charles Morrison, one of the four foundation members, officiated at the 1954 match against the English Marylebone Cricket Club touring side.
From 2008/2009, the Council incorporated the ACT Cricket Scorers to become the ACT Cricket Association Umpires and Scorers Council.
