Ruth Hingston was commissioned in 2005 to create several illustrations for Lost Houses of the Molonglo Valley, by Linda Young, published 2007 and an associated exhibition at the Canberra Museum and Gallery. ACTHL location: H 363.69 YOUN.
Working from a variety of sources, mainly valuation descriptions, photographs and family information, Ruth recreated in pencil sketches six of the now demolished houses. They are Springbank in 1910, Klensendorlffe’s House ca 1850, and four Duntroon Estate cottages belonging to Brigid Young, Kate and George Rottenberry, Catherine and Robert Corkhill, and Elizabeth and Tom Kinleyside (Briar Farm, 1910).
