The album was created by an unknown New Zealand woman who lived and worked in Canberra between July 1952 and August 1954.

She lived in Lawley House in Brisbane Avenue and worked in the New Zealand Office of the Patents Office in Barton.

During her stay in Australia she travelled to Victoria, South Australia, New South Wales and Queensland.

She returned to New Zealand on board the Wanganella, docking in Wellington.

This album was found at the Nelson Transfer Station, New Zealand on 10 March 1996, presumably by the donor, who sent it to the Canberra Museum and Gallery.  It was in turn passed on to the ACT Heritage Library.
