Mrs Collett’s previous husband’s family, the Freemans, were among the early residents of Canberra. Mrs Collett herself has vivid memories of early Canberra; her father William Martin was a carpenter who worked on Parliament House, and her father-in-law Arthur Cresswell Freeman ran the hostel for the single men working on the project.
The photographer is unknown for each of these black and white photographs from Mrs Collett’s collection.
