Two black and white photographs and one black and white photographic negative with original developing envelope from AVE Coates Chemis ant Druggist, 102 Collins Street, Melbourne.

The donor, Ross Rowe, came to Canberra as a baby with the family of AE Bruce in 1926.  His father was came to Canberra as the Furniture Officer at Parliament House, supervising the furnishings of the building.  He later served as Private Secreatry to a Federal Minister 1936-1943.

A.E. Bruce, featured in one of the photographs, came to Canberra in January 1926, having been appointed  Deputy (or Assistant) Superintendent Parks and Gardens in November 1925.   Bruce succeed Charles Weston as Acting Superintendent Parks and Gardens in November 1926.
