The Cactus and Succulent Society of the ACT (C&SS of the ACT) was formed in 1965.

The C&SS of the ACT was incorporated in 2000.

The principal objectives of the Society are:

to stimulate interest in and promote the cultivation of cacti and other succulent plants in the Australian Capital Territory and its environs;

to acquire and disseminate information concerning cacti and other succulent plants and obtain plant material and cultural accessories for distribution to members;

to arrange exhibitions and demonstrations as and when deemed desirable;

to publish and produce material in various media for the purpose of advancing the interests of the Association;

to establish an appropriate reference library for the use of members;

to co-operate with organisations and persons having similar interests and objectives.

C&SS of ACT holds monthly meetings at the Hughes Community Centre.

C&SS of ACT members have the opportunity use the society’s library, join in visits to cactus and succulent collections at member’s homes as well as collections and nurseries interstate.
