The records were transferred to the National Library by the Secretary of the Canberra Branch of the Victorian League in March 1987. They were then transferred to the ACT Heritage Library. The collection comprises records received and used by the Canberra Group of all the Victorian League for Commonwealth Friendship Australian branches and New Zealand. They include correspondence, minutes of Annual General Meetings and National Committee Meetings, Annual Financial Reports, reports and circulars of the Young Contingent League, cuttings and printed material. The Victorian League for Commonwealth Friendship was formed in London in memory of Queen Victoria in 1901 with an aim of promoting friendship. The first Australian branch, the Victorian Branch, was formed in Melbourne in 1908 and it now has branches in every state. In 1935 a Canberra branch was formed. These records have been kept in the same order as listed by the donor. Box List
