HMSS 0236 National Capital Site Cycloramas

Scope and Content Notes

Entrants in the 1912 international competition to design the Australian National Capital were provided with a number of resources. Among them were colour prints of two water colour cycloramic views by R. Chas. Coulter under the direction of Government Architect Vernon.

One was the view from Camp Hill, now Capital Hill and the other from Vernon Hill, now City Hill.

For details about the design competition, please see the Ideal City website.

The National Library of Australia donated two copies of each image to the ACT Heritage Library in the mid 1980s.
