John Clements was a member of the ACT House of Assembly. The papers cover his activities as a member from 1976-1986.

After a period as a Labor representative from 1976 to 1981, Clements became an Independent from 1982 to 1986. During this time he was on various boards and committees. These included the ACT House of Assembly Standing Committee on City Management, of which he was the Chair, and the ACT Milk Authority.

Mr Clements moved to Sydney in 12986 and presented the papers to the ACT Heritage Library at that time.
