Canberra Old Time Dance Club was formed on 5 June 1980 to provide social ballroom-style dances. Beth and Charles Collins were foundation members.

Dances were held at the Burns Club, Forrest, the Police Boys Club, Turner and the Harmonie German Club, Narrabundah. Coach tours were organised to Spring Gully near Bendigo in Victora, Forbes, Bathurst, Lakes Entrance and Sydney.

After a disagreement concerning the direction of the club, Beth and Charles Collins left and started the Canberra City Dance Club in 1993. Canberra Old Time Dance Club continues and holds its dances at St Edmund's College, Griffith.
