Collection consists of a single photograph album of black and white photographs taken in the 1950s. The album was created by an unknown New Zealand man who lived and worked in Canberra between July 1952 and August 1954. It was deposited with the ACT Heritage Library by the State Library of Victoria.
The album consists of 119 photographs (9cm x 6.5cm) and includes photographs of Canberra, the South Coast of NSW, including Batemans Bay, Ulladulla and Milton, and a small number of photographs of Sydney, Melbourne, Gundagai and Geelong.
The Canberra photographs feature Parliament House, the Cotter Dam, the Australian War Memorial, and the Administration Building (John Gorton Building) under construction (1954-1956), as well as various hostels, embassies and streetscapes in Canberra.
