The Presbyterian Church of St Andrew is a cathedral church situated on National Circuit, Canberra. It was built on the recommendation of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Australia, reflecting their desire for the Presbyterian tradition to be represented in the nation's capital. The foundation stone was laid on 27 November 1929, though the hardships of the Great Depression meant the church was only half-completed in time for its grand opening on 22 September 1934. Further extensions were completed in 1948, 1955 and 1962. The Church of St Andrew was the only Presbyterian church in the ACT not to join the newly-formed Uniting Church in 1977, opting instead to remain Presbyterian.
In 2014 a pop-up museum was curated to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Church. The experience inspired members to create a more permanent exhibition. With the assistance of an ACT Heritage grant in 2015 the Living Stones Exhibition was developed. At around the same time the church began running weekly tours.
This collection contains the electronic material provided to printers and publishers for production of the exhibition panels for the Living Stones Exhibition and for the publication Set on a hill : an introduction to the Presbyterian Church of St Andrew. State Circle, Capital Hill, Canberra, ACT. Third Edition, 2016.
