Get ready for a spy-tacular adventure this Winter school holidays! From 8 to 19 July, Libraries ACT is hosting a thrilling Spies and Detectives themed program, perfect for families looking for free, fun-filled activities.

From 8 to 19 July we’ve got a fantastic line-up of free activities suitable for the whole family, all tailored to the theme of ‘Spies and Mystery’. Join us for a spy-tacular adventure full with fun-filled activities, interactive storytelling sessions, craftwork and projects.

Join us as your local library turns into a top-secret training ground for spies and detectives!

Activities Overview

Operation Family:

  • Dinosaur In My Pocket - Story Time with Ashleigh Barton: Enjoy a special reading by bestselling children's author Ashleigh Barton.
  • Movie Mysteries at the Library: Bring popcorn and enjoy movies like "Great Mouse Detective" and "Detective Pikachu."
  • Stealth Moves Dance Movement Class: Led by Liz Lea and her team, these gentle movement classes promote healthy living for ages 0 to 5 with family participation.

Code Name - Fun:

  • Board Games at the Library: Solve mysteries and uncover the 'murderer' through cunning deduction (8 years plus).
  • Decoder Wheel: Learn espionage skills and create a decodable wheel for secret messages (8 to 12 years).
  • Eye Spy and Binocular Craft: Make binoculars and solve library riddles (6 to 8 years).
  • Memory Game: Test your memory and observation skills with a series of 'secret' objects (4-6 years).
  • Graeme Base 11th Hour Reading: Join the mystery of Horace the elephant's missing birthday feast (8 years plus).
