Libraries ACT has a range of services including Bilingual Story Times, books, DVDs, and CDs in different languages, English learning resources, and English conversation groups.
Bilingual picture books can be found in each branch. Other language books for children can be found in the different language collections.
Bilingual Story Times celebrate and share the languages and cultures that make Canberra so rich and diverse. These sessions are for everyone, both for families who speak languages other than English, and for those who speak only English and want to expose their children to other languages and cultures.
The International Digital Children’s Library has many children’s books from other countries, cultures and languages in digital format.
We host friendly and informal English conversation groups at our branches. Bookings are not required and it’s free – so just turn up!
For free online practice tests and more information about TOEFL (Test Of English as a Foreign Language) and IELTS (International English Language Testing System), visit the Exam English website.
