Community Rooms

To book a community room please complete a room hire application form and email it to libraryroombookings@act.gov.au.

For enquiries about the size and available facilities of each room please speak to your local library branch or contact libraryroombookings@act.gov.au.

Community rooms are available to facilitate community learning, literacy, economic development and social inclusion. Rooms are conveniently located and vary in size.

  • Keys cannot be held by the hirer for an ongoing period. They must be returned after each session.
  • Bookings are only tentative unless confirmed by Libraries ACT via email.
  • Any additional costs or damage to rooms or facilities resulting from the use of the room, including attendance by staff or security to re-secure the building, will be charged to the hirer.
  • Libraries ACT may terminate a booking and right to hire a venue at any time.
  • All bookings for community rooms must be able to demonstrate a learning outcome for the community. This may be a formal, informal or non-formal learning opportunity.
  • Community rooms are not available for private parties or functions.
  • The library cannot provide storage for non-ACT Government equipment or furniture.

All applicants wishing to hire a community room must complete an application form, and are responsible for reading the applicable policy, and making themselves aware of their obligations for acceptable use of the facilities.
