Gungahlin Library Photo Gallery

 

Canberra's newest public library, Gungahlin Library, opened in May 2011. It's located on the corner of Hibberson and Gozzard Streets, in the Gungahlin town centre.

Key features of the new library include: 

  • An extensive collection of books, magazines, DVDs and other material
  • Free Internet access including wireless
  • Dedicated zones for children and youth
  • Space for study, quiet reading and research
  • Media zone with DVDs and CDs
  • Featured collections such as environment, house and garden, health and wellbeing

  • Integrated outdoor courtyard space
  • Rooms for learning opportunities for the community, e.g. creative writing, playgroups, seminars and workshops

A Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) smart chute and sorter are used to automatically return items and sort them into categories ready for shelving:
