Books for independent book clubs
The library supports local book clubs by offering sets of up to 15 copies of more than 160 great titles for loan to independent reading groups or book clubs.
These books form a special collection that is not available to the general public, and includes Man Booker, Pulitzer, Nobel, and Miles Franklin award winners.
This is a free service and groups may choose up to six titles per year. Books will be delivered to a library nominated by the group and can be collected by the convenor or individual members of the group. Books may be returned in bulk or individually.
Bookings open in August each year, and as the books are in great demand, groups are advised to book early to avoid disappointment. To select the titles your group would like to read, download the booklist and registration form.
Some of the new titles available in 2012 include: Emma by Jane Austen, The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood, Cold Comfort Farm by Stella Gibbons, and Marley and Me by John Grogan.
- Download a book list for 2012 (PDF 2.5 MB) - once titles are fully booked for 2012, they will be shaded in grey
- Download an application form to request titles for your book group in 2012 (RTF 296 KB)
