Libraries ACT Makerspace
The Makerspace houses a range of electronics and computing equipment that is available for use – 3D printers, Raspberry Pis, Mindstorm robot etc. It is a self-facilitated project and each individual shares the responsibility for making appropriate use of the space, tools and technology made available.
The Makerspace is open for shared use on the first and third Fridays of the month from 2 - 5 pm. Feel free to drop by and have a look.
Inductions to the Makerspace are available by request and are essential prior to using the space. Please contact the Digital and Innovation Officer on 6205 9000 to make a booking. Upon completion of induction the space may be used at any time during library opening hours.
What is a Makerspace
Makerspaces are community driven spaces that let you make, learn and share. They promote innovation and discovery by combining traditional science, engineering and maths fields, with art and creativity.
Makerspaces are ideal places to meet people with similar interests, exchange knowledge and experience, collaborate and access emerging technologies. They expand on the idea of libraries as places of knowledge collection and access, to also be places of knowledge creation.
