Giggle & Wiggle

Giggle & Wiggle is about learning through language play - using interactive rhymes, songs, games and stories specifically chosen for children aged 0-2 years and their parents.

Giggle & Wiggle includes:

  • Alphabet recognition
  • Shapes
  • Colours
  • Numbers

There is a lot of repetition used - the same or similar content during sessions and across sessions - as this is an important way for young children to learn. It also helps babies and parents to participate by singing along and responding to questions.

Giggle & Wiggle at Dickson Library

Dickson Library will be trialing changes to the Giggle & Wiggle program between now and when we break for Christmas.

Giggle & Wiggle is extremely well attended, and the number of participants has become too big. With so many people the program is not the meaningful experience it’s meant to be, and we’re increasingly concerned about safety with so many people crowded into the library.

Dickson Library will offer two Giggle & Wiggle sessions on Tuesdays, one at 10.15 am and a repeat session at 11.30 am, until we break for Christmas. There will not be a 10.30 am session. We ask that families only come to one session at Dickson Library.

Please book a ticket for each child you will bring to Giggle & Wiggle at Dickson Library. Bookings open at 8.30 am on the morning of the program and are free. Click here to book online or phone 6205 9000.

Feedback about the trial is welcome. Please email library.customerinfo@act.gov.au. Thank you for your understanding.
