Library Fees and Charges

 

Some library services attract a fee. These include:

 

  • Overdue fines (charged per item, per day)
  • Replacement of lost cards
  • Lost or damaged library materials (plus an administrative fee per item)
  • Printing
  • Photocopying
  • Room hire
  • Inter library loans
  • Image reproduction (ACT Heritage Library)

 

The list of current fees and charges is available on the Territory and Municipal Services website.

Cash payments can be made at any of the libraries. EFTPOS and credit card facilties are not currently available at the library.

At present, online payments can only be made for overdue fines.

 

Online Payments

 

Library fines can be paid online through the Canberra Connect Make a Payment website. Please note: Payments made online will not be processed until the following working day.

To make an online payment for library fines:

  • Log in to the My Account feature of the online library catalogue to check your membership record for the amount to be paid. You will need your library card and PIN to do this. If you do not have a PIN, ask for one at one of the libraries or phone 6205 9000.
  • Go to the Canberra Connect Make a Payment website. 
  • Find Library fine: payment on the alphabetical list.
  • Click on Go to web form
  • Complete and submit the form to make your payment (the account number is your library membership number).
