In 1995, seven Canberra textile artists formed a business for the production and sale of wearable art and high quality fashion goods. They registered the name Art Thread Designs and operated from the home of one of the members, Gabrielle Watt, in Campbell. The other inaugural members were Dorothy McCabe, Doreen Grey, Joan James, Marlene Greenwood, Bonnie Begg and Jesusa Lockwood.

The collection consists of business papers, personal profiles of the artists with photographs of representative work, minutes of meetings, treasurer’s reports, correspondence, and examples of publicity brochures and signage.
