The Woden VIEW (Voice, Interests and Education of Women) Club was formed in 1970. It was the first VIEW club to be established in Canberra.  VIEW clubs were established by the Smith Family to enable women from all backgrounds to share interests, develop friendships and provide mental stimulation and education while assisting the less fortunate through the Smith Family.

The Woden VIEW Club had their inaugural lunch meeting on 8 September 1970 at The Statesman Hotel, Curtin with 101 members and guests in attendance. The Foundation President was Sue Nish.
