HMSS 0451 Canberra and Region Visitors Centre - Visitors' Comments Books

For decades, visitors' comments books were used at the Canberra and Region Visitors Centre to receive feedback and to see where visitors came from. On 25 July 2016, the new visitors centre opened at Regatta Point, Barrine Drive, Parkes ACT. With it came the introduction of digital surveys to replace the paper visitors' comments books.

The collection contains two leather bound hardcover visitor books containing comments from tourists about the nations capital. The entries provide a snapshot of tourism in the ACT during the late 1980s and early 1990s, including 1988; the Bicentennial year marking 200 years since the arrival of the First Fleet of British convict ships at Sydney in 1788.
