The action of the Save Glebe Park Committee from early 1982, together with support from the wider community and heritage organsiations resulted in Glebe Park being saved from the proposed Tivoli Gardens development which was connected with the White Industries project in Civic.

Most of the trees were saved and Glebe Park was subsequently gazetted as a park and developed sympathetically along the lines of an English-style park.

These papers were collected and created by Denis Wilson, a former President of the Reid Residents' Association and Chir of the Save Glebe Park Committee.
