SYNOPSIS

Anna Kerdijk Nicholson's second book, Possession, explores colonial appropriation. These poems are modern artefacts; permeable and sophisticated -- they examine how language, history and time serve to sift and subvert knowing.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Anna Kerdijk Nicholson was born in Yorkshire and lives in Sydney where she practises law. From 2000 to 2004, she was managing editor of Five Bells, the quarterly poetry journal of The Poets Union Inc. She has won prizes in the Arts Queensland and Australian Women Writers' poetry competitions. Her first book of poetry, The Bundanon Cantos, was a Sydney Morning Herald Best Book of 2003. Possession, her second book of poetry, won the Victorian Premier's Prize for Poetry 2010 and the Wesley Michel Wright Prize 2010.
