Display Terms and Conditions of Use

Can the library create a display/exhibition for me?
The Library is unable to create displays/exhibitions at the request of individuals or organisations. If you wish to display material, you are responsible for all aspects of the display/exhibition, including all consumables and fixings.

Does the library have a space where I can put up my own display/exhibition?
Individuals or organisations may apply to book library space for a display/exhibition of their own material. Display space varies between libraries, and is limited. View a list of Library Facilities

How do I book space for a display/exhibition?
To book display/exhibition space please complete a Display & Exhibition Application Form Word  or  PDF ( 32Kb ) and return it to the relevant branch library. You may also email or fax the completed form. Applications will be considered in the order in which they are received, and must be made with advance notice.

Where in the library can I put up my display/exhibition?
Display/exhibition space and equipment varies depending on the library. Library staff can advise you what space & equipment is available. View a list of Library Facilities

Can someone help me put up or take down my display/exhibition?
The Displayer/Exhibitor is responsible for the installation, erection and placement of the display and its removal at the end of the display/exhibition period

Who will promote my display/exhibition?
You are responsible for all promotion of your display/exhibition. You may negotiate with the Library to assist with promotion, eg via the ACT Virtual Library, but all costs are the responsibility of the Displayer/Exhibitor.

How long can I put my display/exhibition in the Library?
The length of time available for displays/exhibitions is limited by a number of factors including other bookings. The recommended time is between one week and one month.

Who is responsible for my display/exhibition and what happens if part of it is lost, damaged or stolen?
The ACTLIS assumes no insurance liability for materials on display/exhibit and will not at any time be responsible for any loss of or damage to the display/exhibition caused in any manner whatsoever. The Displayer/Exhibitor must indemnify and defend the ACT Library and Information Service and its staff against any existing or future claim, suit, demand, action or proceeding (including costs and expenses) by any person arising from:

1. Any damage, injury, death or loss to property and person caused by any act or omission of the Displayer/Exhibitor, its employees, agents or contractors; or
2. The infringement, or alleged infringement, of the intellectual property rights of any person in connection with the display/exhibit.
